WHAT TO EXPECT

Your Exterior Painting Process

We want to keep you informed every step of the way! Below is a breakdown of each major phase in your exterior painting project. A few days before each event, you'll receive a text reminder with a link to this page so you know what to expect.

1. Pressure Washing & Sherwin-Williams Paint Delivery

Before we begin painting, we ensure your home's exterior is clean and prepped for maximum paint adhesion.

Pressure Washing (2-4 Days Before Painting)

  • We use a gentle but effective pressure wash to remove dirt, mildew, and any loose paint.

  • Before we begin, we'll do a pre-walk with you to:

    • Confirm paint colors and any final details.

    • Point out items we recommend removing, such as potted plants, outdoor decor, or ornamentals near the home.

    • Explain what to expect over the next few days.

  • Your home will be ready for prep and painting immediately after washing.

Sherwin-Williams Paint Delivery (Day Before or Morning of Painting)

  • Your premium Sherwin-Williams Exterior Paint will arrive either the day before or the morning of painting day.

  • This ensures we have everything on-site and ready to go as soon as prep is complete.

  • If you haven't finalized your color yet, don't worry - we'll confirm before ordering!

2. 8-Step Paint Prep Process

Proper prep is the key to a flawless, long-lasting paint job. Expect this process to take the majority of the first day to complete, depending on the condition of your home.

Here's what happens before we start painting:

    1. Pressure Wash - Removes dirt and debris for proper paint adhesion. ALREADY COMPLETE

    2. Scrape Loose Paint - Any peeling or chipping areas are scraped down to a sound surface.

    3. Secure Nails - Loose nails are reset to ensure trim and siding are secure.

    4. Caulk Nail Heads - Small gaps from nail holes are sealed to prevent moisture intrusion.

    5. Caulk Seams & Trim - We seal cracks and joints for a seamless, weather-tight finish.

    6. Prime Lower Panels - All lower sections above grade or roofline are primed for durability.

    7. Prime Bare Surfaces - Any exposed wood or previously unpainted areas are spot-primed.

    8. Mask Windows & Doors - We cover all windows, doors, and non-painted surfaces for protection.

3. Exterior Paint Application

Now for the exciting part - your home's transformation!

  • We apply an even coat of Sherwin-Williams Exterior Paint for superior durability and protection.

  • Our team uses a combination of spraying, rolling, and brushing to ensure even coverage.

  • Trim, soffits, gutters, and doors receive detailed attention for a professional finish.

  • We perform a walkthrough with you after painting to ensure you're 100% satisfied.

The painting process typically takes 1-3 days, depending on weather and home size.
